It is also fitted with the essential balance-charging lead, which allows it to be charged properly using a suitable lipo balance-charger. What is a Balance-Charging Lead? A Balance-Charging Lead provides separate connections to the individual cells that make up the pack. This enables the pack to be Balance-Charged. Why must a Li-Poly battery be Balanced-Charged? The cells in a Li-Poly battery pack must remain within 0.1 volts of each other to ensure maximum performance and life of the pack. When Li-Poly batteries are charged via the 2-Pin Power Lead (Series-Charged) the voltage of the individual cells become un-balanced every time the battery is charged. After approximately 10 charges the cells will be so un-balanced there will be a significant loss of power and the pack will fail. When using a Balance-Charger the cells are charged individually and automatically stop charging, independently, when they reach their optimum voltage. All the cells are "Re-Balanced" every time the battery is charged. Balance-Charging Li-Poly batteries ensures maximum power output and life-span of the battery pack.
